Could you get a two year remortgage without a job?

Suppose you were unemployeed and need a 200K two-year remortgage when you already have 100K in the bank. You could argue that you have a tax-free income of 50K for the next two years. Would they grant you the mortgage without a job? e.g. they could add a clause that you must reapply for the mortgage after two years.

Remortgage lenders all work on affordability and look at your outgoings and make sure that the remortgage will be affordable. Remortgage company's are regulated and will have to see proof of earnings that will cover your remortgage.
